This season, designer Kimberly Ovitz took the word instant to a whole new level. She collaborated with a technology called Shapeways that turns 2-D designs into 3-D objects using a 3-D printer. I KNOW. So futuristicifying. The best part is this magical printer is popping out a really kick-ass jewelry line including stainless steel or nylon winding rings, ear cuffs and statement necklaces all inspired by the idea of natural defense. She showed it on her runway and it became available for purchase right away. Yet another way of encouraging this generation's instant gratification habits. Woh woh…
I'm definitely not complaining.
The pieces are so flippin edgified I don't really know what to do. I adore the spiral ring-cuff action. And the Sonic the Hedgehog ear cuff. LOVE. LURVE. LOVIFY.
